Health & healing for Scorpio season and placements

As we descend further into the darkness towards winter, Scorpio season beckons us to dig deep within our psyche to uncover what it is that we truly desire. Mars brings our burning passions to the surface, while Pluto demands we face the shadows lurking beneath. This powerful blend of energy encourages us to let go of any unnecessary baggage, so that we may transform into a higher version of ourselves. This transformation can feel sticky and mucky like the fixed waters of a swamp, forcing us to face uncomfortable thoughts and feelings. But the provocative nature of Scorpio thrives like an orchid when they draw upon their shadows to propel them towards their ambitions with fierce determination.

Scorpio Rulership

  • Sacrum

  • Tail bone

  • Groin/inner thigh

  • Colon/rectum

  • Urethra/bladder

  • Excretory systems

  • Reproductive functions

  • Nose

  • Sweat glands

Scorpio Body

As the sign of rebirth and transformation, it only feels right that Scorpio would rule over the bodies waste system. The excretory system takes food and drink, removes the toxins and gets rid of any excess through urine, stool, sweat or nasal mucus, so that the body is left with the nutrients it needs to thrive. Suggesting that a well adapted Scorpio has the ability to harness their strength to face the messy parts of a situation, look at it honestly, without judgement and use it to inspire growth and transformation. Releasing toxic thought patterns by taking points of shame and turning them into sources of empowerment.

Scorpios have the ability to see the dark and light with equal appreciation. Though a maladaptive Scorpio placement may find themselves obsessing over the darkness. Focusing too much on how they feel others may have wronged them or being overly ambitious on their personal path to power, with little regard for the people in their lives. This can create unhealthy blockages in the Scorpio system, resulting in ailments such as a build up of toxins, water retention, nasal congestion or constipation. Take these ailments as sign that you make be stuck, trying to control the natural process of a situation in order to protect yourself. This is a reminder that we have to trust in the cycles of life, fall and spring, ingestion and excretion, life and death are all beautiful in their own ways when we let them flow through us freely.

Scorpio Posture

Cobra Pose

With the organs of reproduction under the dominion of Scorpio, Cobra Pose can be quite beneficial during Scorpio season and for anyone with Scorpio placements. This posture gently activates the ovaries and uterus while encouraging blood flow to the area. Cobra Pose can help decompress the sacrum and tail bone by lengthening the spine. This can create room for the sciatic nerve traveling through the sacrum which can become pinched due to tension and immobility.

As a sign with powerful emotions, Scorpios tend to suppress their true feelings in order to avoid being vulnerable. Unfortunately, these emotions can become compressed in areas like the sacrum, causing chronic pain and nerve damage. They can also build up as water retention, causing painful inflammation in the body.

Try these postures to help you release any emotions you've been holding on to:

  • Reclined bound angle

  • Child's pose

  • Pigeon pose

  • Legs up the wall

Scorpio Ritual

At - home ritual to reconnect to the Scorpio energy within you

Foot Mask

First begin with a detoxifying foot mask made with bentonite clay (you can find recipe examples on the Scorpio astro care pinterest board). Scorpio rules the bodies elimination system, this detoxifying regimen can be quite beneficial for Scorpion health

Hot Bath

Next draw yourself a hot bath, adding scents such as ylang ylang, jasmine, frankincense or myrrh. A long soak can be very healing for water signs.

Glute Release

While lying on your back take a tennis ball and place it under your glute. use the weight of your body to pinpoint any tension areas with the ball. Patiently wait for a gentle release before moving onto the next point. Focusing on releasing tension in your glutes will provide much relief for the sacrum and tailbone.

Corpse Pose Meditation

Make sure to end your practice in corpse pose, as Scorpio is the sign of death. While lying in this pose sometimes it can be freeing to visualize your body decaying, becoming one with the soil then transforming into flowers, grass or trees.

Scorpio Journal/Tarot Prompts

As you attune to the devoted nature of Libra through embodied practices such as movement and self-care, consider integrating the wisdom of the season through reflective activities like journaling and tarot. Engaging in these thought-provoking practices can aid in navigating spiritual barriers, both mentally and physically, integrating the lessons of the season and encouraging healing for personal growth.

Consider these prompts as you integrate the healing of the season:

  • What do I need to shed this season in order to grow?

  • How is my obsession with control affecting my life or others?

  • In what ways am I hiding my shadow from myself or others?

  • How can I embrace my shadow for healing, growth and transformation?
